NS Announcement

The Government of Nova Scotia has announced a major commitment to transforming services and supports to persons with disabilities in the province. This is the result of two major consultations in the province over the past six months. See the announcement here.

IRIS has played a significant role in the steps leading up to this announcement. IRIS provided technical support to a Joint Government-Community Advisory Committee on ‘Transforming the Services Persons with Disabilities Program’ the province’s main policy and program framework for supports for persons with disabilities.

IRIS assisted the Committee by undertaking research on best practices, analyzing the key issues with current programs, and drafting a ‘Roadmap to Transformation’ which was released by the government.
