On March 30, 2016, groups of women, men and even children took part in the Saint John’s Community Town Hall for the Working Together initiative to combat structural violence.
IRIS worked with the Saint John Human Development Council and Domestic Violence Community Action Group to put together this town hall and continue working together for a three-year project to help alleviate violence against targeted women, namely migrant and refugee women, indigenous women and women with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.
These women bravely shared their stories.
