IRIS is a proud partner of Women’s Shelters Canada / Hébergement femmes Canada in their campaign to end violence against women and gender-based violence in Canada.

Doris Rajan, IRIS’ Director of Social Development was invited to be actively engaged in the work that Women’s Shelters Canada is doing linked to advancing Canada’s National Action Plan (NAP) on Violence Against Women and Gender-Based Violence.  The federal government has been engaging far and wide on the NAP since the summer of 2020.  Doris is one of eight participants from across the country serving on the Prevention Working Group to develop recommendations in this area, that will provide the framework and initial content for a 10-year NAP.
